The Mendon Foundation announces its 20th annual Bird Walk Series for 2026. Save the dates and come join us for these wonderful Spring events!
Bird lovers, families, and hikers come and join us for bird walks along the Lehigh Valley Trail, Sibleyville Nature Reserve, Lewis Nature Preserve, Oak Openings and Great Bend Park.
Geoff Gretton and Connie Kellogg, long-time bird enthusiasts, will lead the walks. Identify and observe a variety of birds by song and sight.
Cost: FREE
Registration: No sign-up required
Dates & Locations of Walks:
- April 25th: Lehigh Valley Trail – Meet at Rochester Junction entrance on Plains Road
- May 2nd: Sibleyville Nature Reserve –Meet at Plains Road parking lot about 2/10 of a mile east of 15A
- May 9th: Lewis Nature Preserve – Park off the road across the street from 1136 Mendon Center Rd. Meet there at start of Easement Trail
- May 16th: Rush Oak Openings Unique Area – Meet at Honeoye Falls Five Points Road parking lot, 0.9 miles west from intersection with NYS Route 15
- May 23rd: Great Bend Park – Meet at the parking lot off Clover Street in Honeoye Falls
Meet at 7:45am sharp. All bird walks begin @ 8:00 am. Be sure to wear appropriate weather gear and hiking shoes. Do not forget your binoculars and camera.
