The existing Mendon Foundation land trust properties were donated by individuals that believed in the importance of green spaces in our communities. Our goal is to continue growing our green space footprint so that natural habitat can be preserved, and our communities can enjoy light recreation such as hiking, biking, bird watching, cross-country skiing, equestrian, etc., all in the beautiful outdoors.
Green space is essential for recharging our aquifers, preventing pollution of surface and ground waters, filtering sediments, limiting air pollution, and maintaining wildlife habitat and other natural systems. Green space preserves our heritage. When we maintain green space we sustain our natural environment of forests, prairies, mountains, rivers, beaches, farmland, etc. that have uniquely shaped the character of our country and its people.
If you are an individual that considers the preservation of green spaces important, or you are a builder / developer that is looking to set aside green space, please contact us to discuss the possibility of a land donation to the Mendon Foundation. We encourage you to evaluate the initial and ongoing tax benefits you could potentially achieve with a land donation. We would love to meet with you to discuss the possibilities. Thank you for recognizing the importance of maintaining green spaces in our communities!
