The April 1, 2021 meeting of the Honeoye Falls – Town of Mendon Historical Society will feature John Farrell, former Mendon resident, former Mendon Foundation President, avid cyclist & involved Mendon Foundation Director & volunteer.

The topic of John’s talk will be “A Historical Account of the Creation of the Lehigh Valley Trail.” In this special, never-before-seen presentation, John will share a “one night only” account of the Mendon Foundation’s groundbreaking collaborative work with Monroe County on the creation of the 16-mile long Lehigh Valley Trail Linear Park through Mendon and Rush.

Learn about the decades that led up to the creation of the Trail, then get a first-hand account from John about the incredible work and collaboration that was involved in creating not just the Trail, but the improvements along its length, including over 40 Eagle Scout projects. Learn about how the Mendon Foundation does what it does, including its sources for funding, which are often misunderstood. You will also learn what’s in store for the Trail in the years to come.

John will conclude his presentations by taking questions from our audience. Come prepared to ask your own! Don’t miss this special one-time event, unique to the Honeoye Falls-Town of Mendon Historical Society!
