This year’s Mendon Carnival Community Row is open Thursday\, May 28th from 6-9pm; Friday\, May 29th from 6-9pm; and Saturday\, May 30th from 1-9pm. Come learn about the Mendon Foundation\, purchase some merchandize or just stop by to socialize! In addition to all the carnival rides\, there are other special events each day including fireworks on Thursday\, Chicken barbeque on Friday and the Fireman’s Parade on Saturday. DESCRIPTION:Come out and join us for this wonderful FREE event. This is our twentieth (20th) year hosting guided bird walks. Geoff Gretton and Connie Kellogg\, long-time bird enthusiasts\, will lead the walk. Identify and observe a variety of birds by song and sight. No sign up is required. We welcome everyone (8-years old and older). \n\nMeet at 7:45am sharp at Rochester Junction. The bird walk begins at 8:00 am. Be sure to wear appropriate weather gear and hiking shoes. DESCRIPTION:Come join the Mendon Foundation at WinterFest 2026. The WinterFest is a longstanding parks event where we provide some winter outdoor fun\, focused on kids. For example\, weather permitting\, we normally roast marshmallows\, have some arts and crafts activities\, and offer horsedrawn wagon rides through the park.  We’ve recently added a race and “fun run” to the festivities\, as well. \nThe Mendon Foundation will have a table where it will share information about what we do\, and we will have merchandise available such as books\, hats and shirts and hoodies for Mendon\, Lehigh Valley Trail\, Black Diamond Races and the Mendon Foundation. \n \n

DESCRIPTION:On Saturday December 13th\, the Mendon Foundation will be celebrating a successful 2025 by hosting its annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon for active volunteers and spouses. The Mendon Foundation is a 100% volunteer organization. Without a team of wonderful\, passionate\, motivated individuals\, our organization would not exist. For over three decades volunteers have stepped forward and dedicated their time and skills to preserve and maintain green spaces and establish and support environmental and educational events in our surrounding communities. We literally owe it all to you volunteers! Come share good food and conversation as we celebrate all the efforts contributed by one another.\n\nIf you are not a current volunteer\, and are interested in getting involved\, we would love to welcome you to our volunteer team! Please contact us! If you would like to get involved in the administration of the organization\, we have Board positions available\, or smaller roles and activities. The Greenway Cycle Challenge was developed in 2023 as a way to bring awareness to the Genesee Valley Greenway trail system as well as provide much-needed funding to the non-profit that primarily helps support the trail: Friends of the Genesee Valley Greenway (FoGVG).
